First year Big Healey with roll-up windows, curved windshield, vent windows, and more weather-ready top. The new BJ-7 for 1963 was advertised as a sports convertible instead of the previous roadster. The current owner/seller began a ground-up restoration some years ago. This included body-off dipping and coating to resist corrosion, and fully rebuilding the original engine. Front and rear cowl sections are aluminum alloy. Photos show no rust in body or floors. A very solid car that has great potential for a straightforward DIY restoration.
Health issues prevent the owner from completing this project as intended. All parts that were removed are included in the sale, as are spare doors, windshield, a same-year complete engine with manifolds and carbs, overdrive gearbox, new grille and brightwork, weather stripping, and much more.
Engine turns freely, and has been "pickled" (over-filled with oil to promote standing lubrication), though has not run in many years. Receipts for parts, machine work, and other costs will be given to new owner.
Everything is here to reassemble this BJ-7 Healey into an excellent example of a very desirable model year.
